NASA provides In-town soccer from age four through fourth grade, and Travel soccer from fifth grade through high school.

We are fortunate to have a growing number of kids and parent volunteers to provide a wonderful soccer playing and learning experience for hundreds and hundreds of kids each season.

The focus of our in-town and travel programs is to develop skills and passion in a collaborative environment. All kids should feel included and inspired to have fun and find joy in soccer.

In 2024, NASA partnered with US Soccer to launch a new TOPSoccer program that is free for all participants.

Player Pathway

NASA is committed to providing an inclusive, development-focused recreational soccer program for the children of North Andover. North Andover follows an in-town recreational structure through the G4 level (4th grade).
The in-town structure places children on balanced teams that are structured to create a fun and collaborative learning environment in which the players can develop their skills.
NASA believes that the in-town model is optimal for the program’s participants for several important reasons. First, many towns do not have as large of a registration as North Andover does. Without enough players to form an in-town league, travel soccer becomes the only option at 3rd and 4th grade. North Andover is fortunate to have a program that is large enough to support in-town competitive play for boys and girls.
Further, the in-town league allows NASA to structure teams and work with coaches to ensure a consistently positive experience for all players. Specifically, NASA strives to facilitate the narrative around expected parent and coach behavior and sportsmanship.

NASA's Travel soccer program begins in 5th grade and runs through High School (if enough players are registered for G10/G12). North Andover Soccer teams play in the Essex County Youth Soccer Association (ECYSA) and complete against other towns at the appropriate competitive levels. Every child registered for NASA Travel soccer is rostered on a team.
Every Spring, players registered for Travel Soccer attend age-based evaluations to help form the various age-based teams. Incoming 5th grade boys and girls attend two nights of evaluations, while incoming 6th-8th grade boys and girls attend one night.

In Travel soccer, a soccer year consists of a fall season followed by a spring season. NASA travel teams are built using evaluation scores, previous coach feedback, and other sources such that teams are made up of players with similar abilities. This is done to fit the ECYSA (Essex County Youth Soccer) and MYSA (Massachusetts Youth Soccer) structure of age groups and divisions.

Players are expected to attend practices and games or communicate to their coaches when attendance is not possible.
